We Adopted a Platypus!
As part of our annual commitment to donating at least 1% of our annual revenue to environmental non-profits, this year Jelly Ko, through our mother company STYLE STORY has donated to two fantastic charities:
- WWF's "Adopt a Platypus" Program; and
- Great Barrier Reef Foundation's "Restore a Reef Wildlife Sanctuary" appeal.
Why 1% For the Planet?
In 2022, we became an official member of 1% For The Planet.
This is an important global organization leading a network of businesses, nonprofits, and individuals who share the common belief that people have a responsibility to help protect our planet.
Every time you shop with Jelly Ko or our mother company, STYLE STORY, you help support our planet. That's because we donate a portion of the revenue from your purchase to environmental charities. In 2023, our two charities were the WWF and Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
In 2024, we reached out to our community directly to find out about the causes that mattered most to them. The results were overwhelming. They voted in favour of continuing our contributions to both the WWF and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation in 2024.
WWF "Adopt a Platypus" Program
This year, we donated to symbolically adopt a platypus.
Platypuses are heading for extinction unless urgent action is taken. They desperately need our help to survive.
The changing climate and associated catastrophic bushfires and droughts, new dams, the over-extraction of water from rivers, landclearing, attacks by foxes, dogs, and cats, pollution and urban sprawl present serious threats to platypus.
We chose to adopt a platypus to help turn this tragedy around. Our donation will go towards protecting platypuses, including research and monitoring of their populations, as well as a unique re-wilding program that reintroduces platypuses back into areas where they once thrived.

Great Barrier Reef Foundation
The second charity receiving our donation this year is the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. They do essential work around the reef, planting coral fragments to encourage fresh coral.
This year, our donation towards the "Restore a Reef Wildlife Sanctuary" appeal will directly assist one of the largest collective efforts to plant new corals on degraded reefs, sow seagrass seeds to create hectares of lush seagrass meadows and other vital protection work.
