How to Layer Korean Skincare (Without Overthinking It)

How to Layer Korean Skincare (Without Overthinking It)

Your step-by-step Korean skincare routine

The Glow Guide: How to Layer Korean Skincare (Without Overthinking It)

You’ve bought the products. You’ve seen the routines. And then you’re standing in your bathroom like… wait. What goes first?

Let’s clear something up. Korean skincare isn’t complicated. Well, not necessarily and not unless you make it.

Once you understand the logic behind layering, your routine should stop feeling like a chore and start feeling like the best part of your day.

So let’s build it properly!

Step 1: Cleanse (Always First)

At night, especially if you're wearing makeup or sunscreen (which, that at least, you should be), start with an oil cleanser to melt everything off.

Follow with a gentle water-based cleanser to remove sweat, dirt and the day.

In the morning, keep it simple. If your skin feels tight, that’s a sign of dehydration. If you have dry skin, you'll probably prefer to skip the morning cleanse altogether and dive headfirst into something nourishing, simply swiping a Korean essence-style toner over your face with a cotton round.

Step 2: Exfoliate (Your Reset Button)

Exfoliation is what stops your skin from flaky, your makeup from caking and your routine from sitting on top of your skin rather than properly being absorbed.

However, like with most things in life moderation is the key; two to three times a week is enough. You’re clearing away dead skin so everything else can actually absorb.

Cinnamon Toast Sugar Scrub Foam melts into a fluffy foam that removes buildup without stripping your skin.

We want smooth and fresh; not over-scrubbed, irritated or red.

Step 3: Toner (Prep Your Skin)

Toner is your first layer of hydration post-cleanse. This is what makes everything you apply afterwards work better.

Do your first layer of Dewy Glaze Toner onto a cotton round, swiping in the direction of your skin texture. Then follow up with some extra layers in your hands and use a gentle tapping motion to let it soak in.

With 84% birch sap and triple-layered hyaluronic acid, it leaves your skin plump, fresh and bouncy.

That bounce? That’s the start of glow.

Step 4: Serum (Where the Magic Happens)

If toner preps your skin, serum is where you actually treat it.

During the day, go in with White Truffle Soufflé Serum.

It’s lightweight but nourishing, giving your skin that soft, lit-from-within glow while doubling as a makeup-gripping base.

At night, switch to Be Jelly Overnight Dream Serum to smooth and refine while you sleep.

Step 5: Moisturiser (Seal It In)

Now we lock everything in.

Bubble Tea Steam Cream gives that cushiony, soft finish without feeling heavy. If you're used to moisturisers feeling sticky, tacky or just sitting on top of your skin without ever really soaking in then this Best of Beauty-Award winning formulation will feel like a revelation.

Step 6: Sleeping Mask (Your Overnight Glow)

At night, take it one step further. Cherry Blossom Sleeping Mask is like tucking your skin in before bed.

It makes the most of your skin's Golden Time between 10pm to 2am, which is when your skin naturally does most of its renewal and restoration.

With this on, you'll wake up with that glazed, dewy, “I actually slept eight hours” look and no need to peel little chunks off your face like other overnight sleeping masks.

Little Extras That Matter

Before bed, swipe on Gelato Glaze Lip Mask so you wake up with soft, glossy lips.

Got a breakout? Apply a Jelly Shield Pimple Patch on clean skin before moisturiser. Protect it. Support it. And please...do not pick.

Oh, did we mention that BOTH of these little favourites have picked up Best of Beauty Awards?

That’s It. That’s the Secret.

Layer from thinnest to thickest. Hydrate first. Treat second. Seal it in.

Do it consistently, and your skin will do the rest.

You're welcome!
